It doesn’t quite feel like 5 years since their last album “Ghosteen” but listening to Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds’ latest album, there does seem to have been that period of reinvention. A more grandiose and occasionally uplifting affair, “Wild God” is a sweeping record full of spine-tingling choral vocals and lush orchestration that perfectly supports Cave’s lyricism and vocal. “O Wow O Wow”, the touching tribute to Cave’s ex-partner Anita Lane is a particular stand-out, showing Nick at his most reflective, it oozes with affection and is one of the most beautiful things we’ve heard all year.
