To Remind Myself I Have Lived gathers five years of recordings by London-based Michele Tellarini under his Catholic Block moniker. Aquatic sounds drift through hazy electronics and lush bedroom textures before opening onto harsher industrial landscapes. Voices appear and disappear, loops circle memories rather than rhythms, and guitar fragments become dream sequences.
Known for his work with Qlowski and Secrecy, Tellarini moves between composition, improvisation and instinctive sound collage, allowing disparate pieces to find their own connections rather than following the conventions of a traditional song cycle.
The first recordings emerged during the UK lockdown of 2020, as conversations, walks, guitar fragments and home experiments accumulated into a fragmented diary. The process continued between other projects, with synth improvisations and laptop-made pieces recorded across rooms, machines and cities. Rediscovered years later, they became traces of changing places, moments and states of mind.
Carrying echoes of Cumbria, London, Berlin, family homes and temporary rooms, these works occupy an intimate space between organic sound and abstract electronics. Completed with the “if only” trilogy, which extends the project into home video and moving image, the album gathers fragments simply because they were worth remembering.
Limited-edition LP with an A5 zine.
