Two name changes and then, in 1968, the psychedelic-influenced 'Pictures Of Matchstick Men' made the UK Top Ten, also charting across Europe, and a Top 20 US hit.
'Ice In The Sun' was another UK Top Ten hit.
However, the hits dried up and it wasn't till a heavier-sounding Quo roared back into the UK charts in 1971 with 'Down The Dustpipe', followed up by the grungy 'In My Chair'.
