More Info
Simon & Garfunkel had already made a name for themselves with their debut album, 1964's Wednesday Morning, 3 AM, but when Paul Simon travelled to London following the record's release, he had in his pockets a collection of new songs that would cement the duo's place amid the folk-rock icons of the era. As performed for radio broadcast, solo acoustic versions of The Sound Of Silence and April Come She Will reveal the bare-bones beauty of the tunes that would make up Simon & Garfunkel's era-defining second album, The Sound Of Silence, and when Art Garfunkel joined his bandmate in the summer of 1965, the pair made further radio appearances that showed off their heavenly vocal blend.
Working versions of I Am A Rock and Blessed sit alongside songs that would never make it to record, including the only known performance of the Simon-penned Can't Help But Wonder Where I'm Bound.
