Suburban Base Records celebrates thirty-five years with a collection of sought-after jungle and rave cuts from its nineties catalogue. Founded in 1991, the label helped shape the underground as rave exploded and jungle emerged, carrying its sound from independent record shops to pirate radio, clubs and dance floors worldwide.
This anniversary selection brings together original classics, remixes and exclusive versions from Remarc, Johnny Jungle, DJ Hype, DJ Rap & Aston, Krome & Time and more. The label describes the selections as unrepressed and unreissued since their original nineties runs.
This very limited continuous-mix CD is presented in the tradition of the mixtapes that carried the music beyond the dance floor, capturing the flow of a set from one essential tune to the next.
