Original Jazz Classics celebrates Miles Davis’ centennial with a new edition of Steamin’ with the Miles Davis Quintet. Originally released on Prestige in 1961, it was one of four albums drawn from the quintet’s 1956 recordings at Van Gelder Studios.
Davis is joined by his first great quintet: John Coltrane, Paul Chambers, Red Garland and Philly Joe Jones. The six-track collection includes “Salt Peanuts”, “Well, You Needn't” and “When I Fall in Love”.
This edition is pressed at RTI on 180-gram vinyl, with all-analogue mastering from the original tapes at Cohearent Audio, and presented in a tip-on jacket.
