Soul Makossa channels Manu Dibango's early-70s blend of jazz, funk and Cameroonian makossa into a deep, percussion-led groove. The title track is the obvious landmark, but 'New Bell', 'Hibiscus' and 'Dangwa' make the LP more than a one-track story.
