More Info
Orphée depicts a journey from darkness into light, inspired by the various versions of the ancient myth of Orpheus, from Ovid to Cocteau. Its multifaceted narrative of death, rebirth, transformation, and the fleeting nature of memory can also be interpreted as a metaphor for artistic creativity. Orphée offers a diverse sonic palette, featuring acoustic instruments both solo and in ensembles, combined with electronics and the mysterious sounds of shortwave “numbers stations.” It draws on many facets of his previous works, incorporating music for solo cello, organ, string quartet, string orchestra, and a cappella vocals.
Ten years after its debut, the acclaimed album Orphée is being released on Crystal Clear Vinyl for the first time.
