Gilbert O'Sullivan returns with On The Record, a new studio album from a songwriter whose career spans six decades and classics including “Alone Again (Naturally)”, “Clair” and “Get Down”. His wit, warmth and melodic craftsmanship remain at the heart of his songwriting.
Produced by Gilbert alongside Andy Wright (Simple Minds, Eurythmics, Jeff Beck) and mixed by Tony Hoffer (Air, Beck, Belle and Sebastian), the album balances intimacy with rich production. Highlights include the soulful “It's Me”, with its seventies feel and echoes of Steely Dan; “Is That You?”, a duet featuring Andrea Corr of The Corrs; and the wryly autobiographical “Growing Old Disgracefully”.
The limited edition LP is pressed on 140g black BioVinyl. The limited edition CD comes in a digisleeve with a 28-page booklet.
