Product Info

Continuing our reissue programme from the back catalogue of Georgia soul singer Millie Jackson. One of the most raunchy and hard-hitting of 70s ('80s and '90s) soul stars, Millie cut E.S.P. (Extra Sexual Persuasion) in 1983. Recorded at Muscle Shoals Sound, in Sheffield, Alabama, the production team and supporting musicians included Jimmy Johnson, bassist David Hood, guitarist Wayne Perkins, the keyboards of Barry Beckett, Carl Marsh and Steve Nathan and the horns of Harrison Callway Jnr, Ben Cauley, Harvey Thompson and Charles Rose. It produced one hit single I Feel Like Walking In The Rain (Spring 3004-.-it stayed on the Billboard R&B chart 13 weeks, peaking at No 58). 3 years later Millie was back in the Top 10 with the first of her singles for Jive (but that's another story).E.S.P. tells it like it was, with such songs as Slow Tongue, Sexercise and This Girl Could Be Dangerous. Now available as a mid-price release.
