Lou Rawls was unusually not a Philadelphia International original. He'd already had a varied carrier before Gamble and Huff took a chance in 1976 that Lou would fit in well with a slight twist to their revered house style. With a deep, characteristic baritone voice Rawls instantly hit paydirt with You'll Never Find Another Love Like Mine which bookends this album in its hit single and live versions. The album starts strongly with Groovy People, Lady Love and See You When I Git There all top tunes that really show off Rawls' considerable vocal talents. Another highlight is She's Gone, licenced from Bell Records and an excellent Hall and Oates cover.
