New Yorkers Johnny Thunders, ex- of the Heartbreakers & New York Dolls & Pac Palladin, ex- of Snatch and a former Brian Eno collaborator, were both exiled in London. They recorded this affectionate tribute to the American songs of the 50’s & 60’s, with covers of The Seeds, Screamin’ Jay Hawkins, The Shangri-La’s, Dion, Chambers Brothers, Roy Head, Mickey & Sylvia, Elvis, The Shirelles, etc.
Recorded authentically using real brass, strings and many fine musicians, with Pac’s meticulous production extending sessions over many months. Legendary late radio DJs John Peel and Charlie Gillet both described it as being “better than the originals”!
