Influenced by the 70s prog albums Sam Slater loved in his youth yet created from a delicate balance of thunderous double bass, microtonal brass and woodwinds, haunting vocals and subtle electronic effects, this record is a deeply affecting and meditative journey through sound in its physical and melodic aspects.
Slater's wife Hildur Guðnadóttir, known for her incredible soundtrack work (Joker, Chernobyl), is a collaborator on the album and there is a strong filmic feel to these two long form pieces that flow continuously forward and back upon themselves in a soundscape informed by modern classical composition and experimental sound design.
