More Info

Halcyon is the first artist album from London-based neo-classical composer Amelia Warner, following her EPs Arms, Visitors and Haven. Known for her scores for Mary Shelley, Wild Mountain Thyme, Mr. Malcolm’s List and Young Woman and the Sea, Warner brings her cinematic approach to a deeply evocative collection of piano, strings and electronics.

Created over two years between film projects, the album’s curling piano themes, delicate violin motifs and washes of electronics had time to develop and resonate with one another. Shared musical ideas run throughout, with elements of one piece carried forward into the next.

Opening track “First Light” evokes the hope and possibility of a new morning. The closing title track revisits its musical DNA from a more reflective perspective, reshaping fragments into a rush of memory before finding clarity at the end.

This LP edition is pressed on transparent vinyl.
