One of the warmest, most open-hearted records Bleachers have made yet. Jack Antonoff has described the project as an optimistic, hopeful album, less interested in irony and more interested in connection, love and finding moments of joy when the world feels overwhelming. The lead single, “you and forever,” captures that perfectly, building from a gentle, hymn-like opening into the kind of huge, emotional singalong Bleachers have always done best.
There’s still plenty of the band’s signature DNA here — soaring saxophones, Springsteen-style heartland rock, and Antonoff’s gift for turning personal memories into anthems — but tracks like “dirty wedding dress” hint at a more intimate side too, drawing directly from his life with Margaret Qualley and reflecting on love, commitment and growing older.
