Draw Out Your World is Caoilfhionn Rose’s fourth album and her first for Lost Map Records. A softly unfolding collection of dreamy improvisations and driving, beat-led folktronica, it explores new motherhood, resilience through change and the importance of collaboration and community.
Created with her husband and long-time creative partner Rich Williams, the record combines patient reworking with spontaneous invention. Sessions with Danish electronic jazz duo Svaneborg Kardyb and keyboardist John Ellis helped shape its richly textured sound, extending the intuitive, exploratory approach Rose has developed through her ongoing work with The Durutti Column.
From the lullaby-like “Reflecting The Light” and the rolling Fender Rhodes of “Grow” to the finger-picked guitar and hazy electronics of the title track, the album moves between intimate reflection and restless grooves. “Hidden Wars” draws on her love of Portishead and The Smile, while “To a Feeling” opens into a raw jazz jam with Eleanor Colee’s saxophone.
The LP is pressed on pink-marble vinyl and includes a printed insert and signed postcard. Also available on CD.
