A 25th anniversary edition of Hood’s seminal album Cold House, which saw the band merge their slowcore, post-rock and folk influences with intricate, atmospheric IDM production and abstract rap from cLOUDdEAD’s Dose-One and Why?
As innovative as it is catchy, the album’s mixture of organic acoustic and angular electronic instrumentation sounds like nothing else. It has gained a new cult following in recent years, with its influence audible across contemporary artists including Bar Italia, Claire Rousay, More Eaze and Chanel Beads.
This reissue features a booklet with a new extended interview between Simon Reynolds and the band, alongside archival imagery and photographs. The audiophile double-black-vinyl edition includes an A4 booklet.
The CD edition collects extra B-sides and early recordings. The 2002 BBC Radio 3 session is digital-only and is not included on the physical editions.
