Blue Horse (25th Anniversary Edition)

The Be Good Tanyas’ landmark debut Blue Horse returns in a 25th-anniversary vinyl edition. Recorded in Vancouver in 2000 on next to no budget, Frazey Ford, Trish Klein and Samantha Parton turned old-time, folk and country-blues into something spooky, intimate and entirely their own.

CBC airplay helped take the independent release to an international audience. In the UK, Blue Horse spent 83 weeks on the Official Country Artists Albums Chart, peaking at number three, and earned a place in Q Magazine’s Top 50 albums of the year. A Glastonbury Acoustic Stage set and an appearance on Later… with Jools Holland followed.

“The Littlest Birds” became a signature song, later featured on Showtime’s Weeds, while Frazey Ford’s acclaimed solo career continues to bring new listeners back to the trio’s beginnings.

Cut from newly prepared 2026 vinyl masters, this single-LP edition returns Blue Horse to vinyl for the first time in 15 years.
