Fresh from their set at Victoria Park’s APE/Outbreak festival supporting Deftones, Deafheaven surprise-release At Work In The Fields Of The Bomb. Recorded with producer Arthur Rizk, the three-song EP opens with “Hunter”, accompanied by a short film created by the band’s George Clarke with director Nico Poalillo and Pulse Films.
The EP borrows its title and central concept from Robert Del Tredici’s photo book documenting the ordinary places and people involved in producing nuclear weapons. It explores the unsettling contrast between the bomb’s unimaginable consequences and the mundane actions that make such destruction possible, reflecting on the choices and systems that lead towards irreversible moments.
