More Info
Pink Floyd’s Animals celebrates its fiftieth anniversary with editions exploring the original 1977 album, rare recordings and the band’s previously unreleased performance at Oakland Coliseum Arena on 9 May 1977.
The 180g orange vinyl edition features the original album. The 180g black double LP and double CD pair the original album with rarities, including early versions of “Dogs” and “Sheep”, “Sheep (Original Radio Edit)”, “Studio Jam” and the previously unheard Roger Waters track “Young Nicholas Jon”.
The deluxe box contains three LPs featuring the original album, 2018 Remix and rarities; five CDs featuring those recordings and the Oakland concert; and a Blu-ray containing all of that audio, with the 2018 Remix also in 5.1 and Dolby Atmos. A 64-page hardback book includes new sleeve notes by Jonathan Lethem, an interview with Reinhard Hohlwein, an excerpt from Aubrey “Po” Powell’s memoir about the artwork and previously unpublished photographs. A stencil and three posters complete the set.
The standalone Blu-ray brings together the original 1977 stereo mix, the 2018 Remix in stereo, 5.1 and Dolby Atmos, five rarities and the Oakland performance.
