Originally released on Saddle Creek, Adrianne Lenker’s third solo album abysskiss joins her 4AD home in this LP and CD reissue.
Following a two-week road trip through the southwestern United States, Lenker headed into the studio with longtime friend Luke Temple. Over the course of a week, they recorded the songs that felt most alive in the room: some had existed for years, while others had been written only days before the session.
Rather than castaways or B-sides, these songs are connected by intuition, capturing a particular moment in time. abysskiss reveals the openness and clarity of Lenker’s songwriting, offering an intimate counterpart to her work with Big Thief.
