More Info

After her start as the wee Scottish girl in The Little Rascals movies, on to a mistress of bop vocalese with Lambert, Hendricks and Ross, dropping out of the mainstream as Lenny Bruce's girlfriend/drug buddy, she returned to the UK. Soho in the 1960s called to her, the world of Ronnie Scott Brit Bop, of Georgie Fame all-nighters, and Peter Cook's Satirical Nightclub, The Establishment, home of the satire boom, beatniks and of course jazz, where she played with BritBop drum-master and early Rock and Roll band leader Tony Kinsey, performing songs by Private Eye affiliated poet Christopher Logue. You can't get more of a snapshot of a time than that - unless I am in it as a child (I lived nearby then) - or a young Una Stubbs dances out of a poster to kiss Tony Newley. Annie Ross, Scotland's queen of Jazz, take a bow - a classic album in original look and sound yet brand new. Relive a legend with the wonderful voice of Anne Ross.
