The Teardrop Throbs is The Flaming Lips’ first new studio album in six years, following 2020’s American Head. More than four decades into their career, the psychedelic rock innovators return with lush arrangements, exquisite production and songwriting sharpened by experience.
Wayne Coyne moves from the poignant directness of “Every Teardrop Cried” to the melancholy of “The Trees Are Getting Their Leaves”, drawing on the expansive sonic palette that has made the band such enduring, distinctive voices.
The indie-exclusive LP is pressed on opaque blue vinyl. Standard LP and CD editions are also available.
