Released in 1982, Night Nurse is one of the best-known records of Gregory Isaacs’ career. Its title track became his signature recording, pairing a relaxed reggae rhythm with romantic longing and a plea for comfort.
Recorded at Tuff Gong Studios in Kingston, Jamaica, the album was produced by Isaacs and bassist Errol “Flabba” Holt, with the Roots Radics providing the backing. The musicians include drummer Lincoln “Style” Scott, guitarist Eric “Bingy Bunny” Lamont, lead guitarist Dwight Pinkney, keyboard player Wycliffe “Steelie” Johnson and synthesizer player Wally Badarou.
This 180g vinyl reissue faithfully replicates the original Island Records pressing, including the original poster and “free poster” sticker.
