More Info

Looking Back In A Funny Way celebrates 30 years of Trunk Records by doing what the label has always done: finding the unfound, the unthinkable and the forgotten sounds of the past. Rather than revisiting its back catalogue, this anniversary LP brings together music Trunk has not released before.

Founded in 1996, Trunk helped bring non-commercial library music to a wider audience, pursued The Wicker Man soundtrack and found musical possibilities in everything from computer keyboards to train buffet-car announcements. This collection continues that singular spirit of discovery.

Across one LP, expect unreleased Roger Webb disco, breakbeat library music, psychedelia from The Advancement, jazz from The Silhouettes and an unreleased electronic experiment by Basil Kirchin. Outsider singing, a flexi-disc promoting Milton Keynes shopping centre and improvised jazz for children’s dance workshops add to the mix.
