Hairspray (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)

The soundtrack to the feature film adaptation of the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical Hairspray returns on blue and pink splatter vinyl. Based on John Waters’ 1988 cult classic about star-struck teenagers on a local Baltimore dance show, the film brings together a cast including John Travolta, Queen Latifah, Michelle Pfeiffer, Christopher Walken, Amanda Bynes, Brittany Snow, Zac Efron and Elijah Kelley.

The soundtrack features “Good Morning Baltimore”, “Welcome To The 60’s”, “The Nicest Kids In Town” and “You Can’t Stop The Beat”, alongside three original numbers created specifically for the film: “Ladies’ Choice”, “The New Girl In Town” and “Come So Far (Got So Far To Go)”. “Mama, I’m A Big Girl Now” brings together Ricki Lake, Marissa Jaret Winokur and Nikki Blonsky.

Certified Platinum by the RIAA, the album is presented here as a double LP on blue and pink splatter vinyl.
