Björk Orkestral - with the Hamrahlíð Choir

Björk Orkestral – with the Hamrahlíð Choir captures the 24 October 2021 performance at Harpa concert hall in Reykjavík, part of Björk’s Orkestral concert series. The show features the 50-person Hamrahlíð Choir conducted by Þorgerður Ingólfsdóttir, with Bergur Þórisson on organ, and draws primarily on songs from Medúlla.

The concerts were organised to raise money and awareness for Kvennaathvarfid, a charity supporting women and immigrants of different origins within Iceland.

A longstanding presence in Icelandic musical life, the Hamrahlíð Choir began collaborating with Björk on Utopia in 2017, followed by the Cornucopia concerts in New York City and Europe in 2019. Here, their shared musical language brings a choral dimension to songs spanning Björk’s catalogue.
