Art In The Apple (Live At Fat Tuesday’s, New York, 1980)

Widow’s Taste Music and Omnivore Recordings present Art In The Apple (Live At Fat Tuesday’s, New York, 1980), a new collection of previously unissued recordings by saxophone great Art Pepper.

Drawn from performances at Fat Tuesday’s between 29 April and 2 May 1980, this two-CD set brings another chapter of Pepper’s live career to light. It continues Widow’s Taste Music and Omnivore’s dedication to preserving, restoring and releasing his music, introducing unheard performances to longtime listeners and those discovering him for the first time.

Since 2012, their collaboration has yielded more than 20 releases spanning decades of Pepper’s career, from an expanded reissue of The Art Pepper Quintet to The Complete Maiden Voyage Recordings, alongside performances recorded in Japan, Switzerland, Canada and the United States.
