More Info

In the seven years since releasing the thunderous "Hope Six Demolition Project" PJ has changed tack considerably, presenting an eerie and deeply absorbing collection of songs where the oblique lyrics are matched by skeletal, hazy and shapeshifting instrumentation. Inspired by the folklore and archaic language of her native Dorset, this is truly an album to wander through, pleasantly lost and somewhat discombobulated by the mysteries therein.

Strange but Good

I've got to admit to PJ Harvey's career passing me completely by. I read about this album when it was album of the month in a HiFi magazine I read. Not having heard of her I thought why not? I can sum up the album as being very strange lyrically as she uses medieval words in the lyrics. But once you get used to this, I Inside The Old Year Dying is a stunning album
