This covers the singer's output from his early-'70s breakthrough hits with Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes ("The Love I Lost," "If You Don't Know Me by Now") through his fifth album, 1981's It's Time for Love." For whatever reason, Pendergrass' solo work wasn't all that popular in the U.K. Only three of the songs included here managed to peak within the 40s of the U.K. chart. This includes essential cuts like "Close the Door," "Love T.K.O.," and "The More I Get, the More I Want,".
