Van Lear Rose

Loretta Lynn’s Grammy-winning Van Lear Rose returns, reissued and expanded with “Just To Have You Back”, previously available only to members of Third Man’s Vault vinyl subscription series.

Recording began in January 2004 on Lynn’s 42nd solo album, with a 28-year-old Jack White taking the producer’s chair. A longtime admirer of her work, White helped bring together two distinct but deeply connected approaches to songwriting, playing and production, creating a standout chapter in a career already spanning five decades.

The album won the 2005 Grammy for Best Country Album, while “Portland, Oregon” won Best Country Collaboration With Vocals. Twenty-two years later, its blend of styles remains a celebrated part of Lynn’s extraordinary legacy.
