Product Info

One of the most significant chapters in the career of the Sun Records legend Charlie Rich, previously scattered over many different compilations, is finally anthologised in one place. Rich moved from Sun to RCA's Groove subsidiary in 1963. While of obvious quality, the Chet Atkins-produced material produced no Hot 100 action and Charlie moved on to Smash in 1965. Among the 40 tracks are several songs that have never been on CD anywhere, plus one beautiful, previously unheard song from the vaults, One More Mountain. Includes the classic single Big Boss Man, plus three US Billboard Country #1s: There Won't Be Anymore, I Don't See Me In Your Eyes Anymore and She Called Me Baby. Features several much-loved 60s club classics, including the popcorn favourite Turn Around And Face Me and the slow groover Let Me Go My Merry Way.

The in-depth sleevenotes are by Bob Stanley, author of acclaimed book Yeah Yeah Yeah: The Story of Modern Pop and include a full sessionography.
