The New Breed (2026 Repress)

Jeff Parker’s 2016 album The New Breed marked a turning point in his solo career and for International Anthem. It gave full voice to his distinctive approach to sample-based beat construction, augmented by improvisation and live instrumentation.

Parker’s guitar, synths and other instruments are joined by Paul Bryan on bass, Josh Johnson on alto saxophone and keys, Jamire Williams and Jay Bellerose on drums, and his daughter Ruby on vocals. What began as an exploration of hip-hop processes and their relationship to his work in jazz became a blueprint for much of his subsequent music.

This 2026 LP repress comes with an updated obi.
