Between the end of September and the beginning of October 1965 the John Coltrane Sextet held a "residency" at the Seattle Penthouse club from which recordings the official album "Live In Seattle" was obtained. This CD on the Fat Alberts Bag label, on the other hand, recovers part of the performance of September 30 of that year, broadcast on the radio by the King FM station as part of a show entitled "Jazz from the Penthouse": almost thirty minutes in which John Coltrane (tenor and soprano saxophone), Pharoah Sanders (tenor sax), Donald Garrett (double bass and clarinet), McCoy Tyner (piano) Jimmy Garrison (double bass) and Elvin Jones (drums) put their extraordinary interplay to good use by embarking on adventurous sonic explorations
