The 9th Leonard Cohen album, originally released in 1992. Following the successful "I'm Your Man" album, Cohen planned to make a follow-up using the same personnel and studio, but the number of studios used ran into double figures and eventually incorporated a choir and orchestra. Somber and with many references to the political chaos of the time, the album is still infused with the humour present on "I'm Your Man".
