The recording session for this album took place in 1958 and featured Dorothy Ashby as leader on harp, backed by bassist Richard Davis, drummer Grady Tate, percussionist Willie Bobo and a horn section consisting of Jimmy Cleveland, Quentin Jackson, Sammy Russo & Tony Studd.
The record pre-dates the spiritual jazz tradition of Alice Coltrane and Pharaoh Sanders but with a more old school R&B feel.
