Goth rock pioneers The Sisters of Mercy release a limited edition 7" picture disc containing live radio recordings from the early days of the band. The A-side 'Red Skies Disappear' never made it onto any of their albums existing only as a demo, but the music is the same as the title track to their mighty David Allen (The Cure, Psychedelic Furst, Wire) produced debut album, First and Last and Always. Meanwhile, the haunting yet funky b-side 'A Rock and a Hard Place' is culled from their debut album and a hook-laden highlight from it, with the instrumentals coalescing beautifully with the mechanized beats of drum machine Doktor Avalanche.
