Unlike most of Grant Green's (1935-1979) many trio albums, Remembering didn't make use of the organ or the piano, consisting instead of a guitar, bass, and drums format. Backed by such subtle players as Wilbur Ware and Al Harewood, Green could showcase his talents with no inhibition, making this one of the most remarkable works of his whole career.
"Guitarist Grant Green is heard in prime form in a sparse trio with bassist Wilbur Ware and drummer Al Harewood. Because Green rarely ever played chords, sticking to single- note lines, hearing him in this setting is similar to hearing a tenor in a pianoless trio. Recommended."- AllMusic (Scott Yanow) 4 STARS
