One Step Beyond… (2027 Reissue)

One Step Beyond… introduced Madness to the nation in 1979, carrying the 2 Tone sound into the mainstream. Recorded and mixed in around three weeks at Eden Studios with producers Clive Langer and Alan Winstanley, the debut reached number two in the UK and features “My Girl”, “Night Boat To Cairo” and “The Prince”.

The vinyl editions feature a new 2026 master, cut from transfers of the original quarter-inch master tapes prepared for the 2014 reissue, and are pressed on 180g heavyweight vinyl. Alongside black vinyl, a strictly limited violet edition is available as a one-time pressing that will not be repressed.

The CD uses the 2014 remaster from the original quarter-inch master tapes and comes in a mini-LP replica of the original vinyl sleeve. Original 1979 artwork is reproduced throughout, with the complete lyrics to the Madness-composed songs printed for the first time on a 12 × 12-inch vinyl insert and in the CD booklet.
