More Info

Recorded in 1965, 6 years after his seminal Kind Of Blue album, this offering marks the start of a new era for the ever evolving Miles Davis. Recording with a new Quintet (Davis on trumpet, Wayne Shorter on tenor sax, Herbie Hancock on piano, Ron Carter on double bass and Tony Williams on drums), the work is still largely modal, but starting towards the fusion that would find it's apotheosis later with In a Silent Way and start down stranger paths with Bitches Brew.
