Here Lies Human

Roxanne de Bastion returns with her third album, Here Lies Human. Its ten energetic alt-pop songs explore a world increasingly shaped by tech autocracy, power imbalance and looming dystopia.

Curious, cutting and deeply affectionate, the album is an imagined epitaph for humanity in all its beauty, strangeness and self-defeating complexity. It expands de Bastion’s sound while retaining the sharp observational songwriting that has defined her work.

Produced by Steph Marziano and Tony Visconti, the album features a distinguished cast of collaborators. The Visconti-produced “Apocalypse Queen” features saxophonist Donny McCaslin, guitarist Gerry Leonard, engineer Kevin Killen and drummer Gunnar Olsen.

Here Lies Human follows her Bernard Butler-produced 2021 album You & Me, We Are the Same and her 2024 literary debut, The Piano Player of Budapest.
