More Info

Radiohead’s officially released live album, Hail To The Thief (Live Recordings 2003-2009), is less a conventional tour document and more a deliberate, cathartic re-evaluation of their 2003 studio album. Spanning recordings captured across London, Amsterdam, Buenos Aires, and Dublin, this 12-track compilation (notably omitting "Backdrifts" and "A Punchup at a Wedding") was inspired by Thom Yorke’s work on a theatrical adaptation of the source material. Where the original studio release was famously rushed and fraught, these live versions offer the essential material a renewed sense of feral energy and cohesion.

Tracks like the explosive opener "2 + 2 = 5" and the tribal intensity of "There, There" showcase the band at their most muscular, allowing the guitar-centric, politically charged paranoia of the songs to cut through with a visceral force. Mixed by Ben Baptie, the sound quality is pristine, emphasising the locked-in rhythm section of Colin Greenwood and Phil Selway, making it a compelling alternate version of the album that solidifies its standing as a powerful bridge between the electronic experiments of Kid A/Amnesiac and the warmth of In Rainbows.
