7 (2027 Reissue)

Madness’s third album 7 marked a step forward in the band’s songwriting when it arrived in October 1981. Begun at Compass Point Studios in Nassau and largely re-recorded in London on their return, it reached number five in the UK and features “Cardiac Arrest”, “Shut Up” and “Grey Day”.

This edition also includes “It Must Be Love”, the band’s cover of Labi Siffre’s song, as a bonus track. Released as a single later in 1981, it reached number four in the UK and was not included on the original UK album.

The vinyl editions feature a new 2026 master, cut from transfers of the original quarter-inch master tapes prepared for the 2010 reissue, on 180g heavyweight vinyl. Alongside black vinyl, a strictly limited silver edition is available as a one-time pressing that will not be repressed.

The CD uses the 2010 remaster from the original quarter-inch master tapes and comes in a mini-LP replica of the original vinyl sleeve, with the complete lyrics to the Madness-composed songs printed in the CD booklet for the first time. The original 1981 artwork is reproduced for this reissue.
