Sister Ray Selects: Mercury Prize Nominated Band To Headline
We're all very excited for our first Sister Ray Selects night on Thursday! Live music has been such an instrumental part of all our lives and to have it missing has been tough. We still can't say much about our Secret Headliner, other than they are a 3 piece London group who have been nominated for the Mercury Prize in the past. More importantly they are a favorite of the shop. We're honored to have them as our first headliners, as we couldn't have asked for a more exciting band to launch Sister Ray Selects. It promises to be a great night, so don't miss out!
In the mean time we thought we'd quickly chat about our two supports.
Oslo Twins:
Formed at university in Bristol just two years ago, Oslo Twins have created a moody and trip-hop inspired sound influenced by dance, industrial and lo-fi music of the 80s and 90s. They released their dark, punchy debut single ‘The Edge’ last month, produced with Seth Evans (Black Midi, HMLTD), and have since played numerous iconic venues including the Windmill, the Old Blue Last and Rough Trade Bristol. The track has received significant acclaim, with BC Camplight tweeting that it features “probably my favourite vocalist at the moment”.

Earlids:Recorded and produced in isolation from each other during lockdown, the UK duo’s first instalment of releases explore an experimental ambience that calls on heavy prog and electronic influences. The four-track instrumental EP journeys beyond the ethereal endeavours of the opening track and into the turbulent abyss of face-melting electronic noise.
Accompanied by a stunning visualiser, created by the artist Ruth Dent.
‘EPI’ is available via all streaming platforms.
