More Info

• The 1979 Dan Hartman album that launched a thousand parties

• Featuring the original version of ‘Relight My Fire’ (R&B #67, Pop #169) that topped the Disco charts; a bonafide classic featuring Loleatta Holloway on vocals.

• Plus a host of remixes and alternative versions. ‘Relight My Fire’ was subsequently covered by UK by Take That featuring Lulu, who took their version to the top of the UK Pop charts in 1993.

From the opener ‘Hands Down’ featuring Stevie Wonder and Edgar Winter on harmonica and sax respectively, this is a classic set which concludes with ‘Free Ride’ a track he penned for his former band The Edgar Winter Group.

Dan Hartman was an American musician, singer, songwriter and producer who hailed from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He is best known for his disco hits ‘Instant Replay’, ‘Love Sensation’ and ‘Relight My Fire’.

After his time with Edgar Winter, Hartman released the magnificently titled promotional album ‘Who Is Dan Hartman And Why Is Everyone Saying Wonderful Things About Him?’, which was a retrospective on his career until that point, he later scored big in 1978 with the #1 Disco smash ‘Instant Replay’ (from the album of the same name) which also crossed over to the US and UK Pop charts.
