Essential classic techno from 1994, Waveform Transmission's 3 sees Mills on unrelenting and punishing form. However rather than falling into the same traps that much of the genre has, the primal nature of the arrangements and tone and texture of the sounds used, makes this a classic example of analog machines being used in an extremely emotive and human way. Full of the classic Detroit sounds that have influenced a generation of techno producers and made with all the analogue equipment that has shaped electronic music in the last 20 years this still sounds fresh and is an extremely important record.
