In 1969, Robert Quine (later to be guitarist in The Voidoids) made a series of mixing desk recordings of Velvet Underground shows in St Louis and San Francisco which would become legendary and sought-after bootlegs.
This 8LP box collects recordings of the band's two-night stint on November 26 and 27, 1969, at San Francisco club The Matrix, owned and operated by Jefferson Airplane's Marty Balin.
Some of these recordings with issued on the 1974 release "1969: The Velvet Underground Live" (AKA the greatest live album of all-time).
