More Info

The world famous American rock band, Huey Lewis and The News, known for major hits like “The Power of Love”, released in 2010 their ninth studio album, Soulsville, as a tribute to the influential music of Stax Records.

This American record label, originally based in Memphis, Tennessee, was influential in the creation of Southern soul and Memphis soul music and included stars like Otis Redding.

The album contains 14 Stax cover versions, and the track “Respect Yourself” is a duet with American Gospel singer Dorothy Combs Morrison, famous for her lead vocal on the Edwin Hawkin Singers classic “Oh Happy Day.”

Soulsville, which peaked at #15 in the US Independent album chart when it was originally released, will now be available in a newly repackaged and upgraded Digipak format.
