Product Info

Experience the cool sounds of 1960s France on another hand-picked collection of groovy Gallic girl-pop.

The third volume in the popular series spotlighting the female singers of 1960s France, “Toujours Chic!” The LP version, featuring a gorgeous cover photo of Françoise Hardy, is pressed on 180g lavender-coloured vinyl and comes with a fully illustrated inner bag.

Star of the show is series debutante Laura Ulmer, who graces the cover of the CD version and contributes three adorable tracks from what would have been the finest of her four EPs, had its release not been cancelled at the test pressing stage. Also new to the series are Fabienne with two cool jazz-tinged numbers, “it girl” Zouzou with a pair of Marianne Faithfull-influenced folk rock tunes, future star Véronique Sanson with her solo debut, Charlotte Walters with her esoteric cult favourite ‘Angel Of Sin’, Brian Jones lookalike Stone with two pop-psych nuggets, Nicole Legendre of the duo Les Ruby Baby with a standout track from her solo career and Eurovision stalwart Isabelle Aubret with ‘Arc-En-Ciel’, one of the several Serge Gainsbourg compositions in her catalogue.
