Between 2018 and 2022, photographer RichardMosse, cinematographer Trevor Tweeten andcomposer Ben Frost set out to rigorouslydocument the Amazon’s environmental breakdownusing scientific imaging and sound technologies,collating the results into ‘Broken Spectre’, avisceral, multi-channel installation that premieredat London’s 180 Studios in October 2022.
This album, an audio accompaniment drawn from1000s of hours of sonic documentation andelectronic composition, is presented on this doubleLP from The Vinyl Factory.
Various aspects of Frost’s contribution to theproject are laid out on a lavish double LP andcrafted especially for this format, housed in agatefold sleeve. The album is an ambitious collageof evocative environmental recordings andcomplex electronic processes, ‘Broken Spectre’utilises the many skills Frost has developed overthe years as an award-winning and criticallyacclaimed sound engineer, composer, andrecordist.
